“PUA”是“把妹艺术家”的缩写。
把妹达人：指那些善于运用心理、社交技巧和魅力帮助自己成功与异性建立关系的人。
后来PUA的使用范围变得更广，现在多指在精神上、言语上或行为上控制你，攻击你，让你失去信心，从而听从他的话。
pick up除了人们熟悉的“泡妞、学习、收获等”含义外，还有“泡妞、搭讪……”的意思。
PUA在这里将动词短语pick up与连接词连接起来，成为Pick-Up。
